Pink pants

Photobucket

The most unexpected items sometimes become favorites. I thought I would never end up wearing these raspberry shorts I bought with my friend Jennie in De La Ostia (Palermo) but in fact I love them and wear all the time, arguably far to often. I love that fashion has become less brand-driven and more about expressing your personality. In the case of my pink shorts, they instantly improve my mood when I put them on, partly because I laugh when I look in the mirror, or when I look down...If that's not motivation to throw on the things you love most, I dont know what is.

Dog Herds

There's no other way to describe it. Everyday all over Buenos Aires professional dog walkers wander around with an enormous herd of dogs ostensibly attached to one main leash. The Scnauzers, Golden Retrievers, Labs, weimaraners and the inexplicably popular tiny poodle all band together and follow the leader. How this is even conceivable, how the typical token Rotweiler manages to not eat the toy poodle (or worse yet, any number of other minidogs dressed in sweaters) in a matter of seconds is beyond me. Even after three years of living here, I never get tired of seeing them!

That last picture of a woman walking 1,000 Beagles (+one straggler) I think is on to something...maybe she rotates by breed or maybe they're actually all her dogs, who knows.

Lazy Sundays

Photobucket

Photobucket

This Sunday I made it out of my apartment by the crack of 3pm to eat lunch in Recoleta. Recoleta is one of my favorite neighborhoods because of its beautiful architecture and overall elegance. Walking around is like stepping back in time as the ladies who lunch still wear their furs and elbow length gloves out to the local cafe at tea time. Hopefully I´ll be able to take some pictures of them and show you what I mean.

Inspired by the nuns of his early childhood and Gaucho folklore, Pablo Ramirez creates clothes only in black and white. While some of his designs are too literal in terms of their interpretation of retro silhouettes, mostly they are just beautiful and classic.

Hanging On

Photobucket

Here I am experiencing a moment of extreme vertigo. I'm standing on a balcony overlooking Pueyrredon avenue in Buenos Aires.

Since Paula Cahen D'Anvers didn't get my letter to her for some reason (I can't imagine why not) I was obliged to buy the aforementioned booties myself. I'm so glad I did though as the black and brown combination makes the so versatile I've been living in them ever since.

Finally Out!

Photobucket

I finally got off the couch and made it over to a friend's birthday party this weekend. A birthday party and the lure of wearing these neon shoes (sorry I know its getting old) is motivation enough for me.

Death by Huevos Rancheros

Ive been sick for the past week from eating radioactive huevos. Since my uniform of sweatpants and college t-shirt is sartorially interesting to no one and I haven't been on the street much to take pictures, I thought I'd post about what I've really been doing...

Shamelessly wasting hours and hours combing Ebay for everything I can possibly imagine. Here is a selection of things I most definitely would want. From the top left:

Marni wedges $107
Curb link silver bracelet
Chanel red clutch $121
Vena Cava top $25
Proenza Schouler (no heels!!) heels $315
White silk blazer $20
Blue romper $19

The Proenza Schouler heels are so amazing! Sadly they are in no way affordable, not even on Ebay.

Paula Cahen D'Anvers

Dear Paula,
My favorite thing about your current Summer line are these lace up booties. I would gladly wear them if you wanted to give them to me. I could feature them on my blog which is read willingly by at least 5 people and surely generate business for you.
Thanks so much,
Emily
